Wednesday, 24 December 2008 |
Today, Friday 19 December 2008, we are getting on together here in the light of: 1.The Israel-Zionist regime’s brutal atrocities towards Palestinian population in Gaza Strip with the imposition of the blockade of the coastal area since mid-June 2007, which so far resulted in the dead of hundreds of patient; the suffering of 75 percent of Palestinian kids from malnutrition and starvation; the crushing of people economy; and the inability of humanitarian aids for entering the Strip. 2.The UN Human Rights Council’s declaration on 9 December 2008 that Israeli policies against Palestinians and the blockade of the Gaza Strip as “CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY” that deserved an International Criminal Court investigation. 3.The international collusion and the silence of Arab leaders towards the humanitarian tragedy of the innocent people and this extensive human suffering. So today will be the day to start action to end all those atrocities, and to speak strongly and determinedly that we: 1.Call the Egyptian government to open the Rafah crossing permanently because the closing of the border will place Palestinians under more serious conditions and will be tantamount to Egyptian support for Israeli crimes that makes Egypt accountable for any suffering happened in the Gaza Strip; 2.Urge the Egyptian government to allow humanitarian aid workers and international human rights activist and rapporteur for entering the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border; 3.Urge the Egyptian government to cut diplomatic tie with Israel-Zionist regime, and warn other Arab countries to not even try building any relation with that cruel apartheid regime; and 4.Call international community to bring US-Israel leaders involved in any crime committed towards Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in the presence of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for trial. DECLARATION OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "FREEDOM AND RIGHT OF RETURN: PALESTINE AND 60 YEARS OF ETHNIC CLEANSING" AT INDONESIA, 14-15 MAY 2008With independence being the right of every nation, colonialism must be eliminated from the face of the earth as it is contrary to the dictates of human nature and justice. (The 1945 Indonesian Constitution-Preamble) Native inhabitans of historical Palestine are people that are expelled and dispossed from their lands by force. Since 100 years to date the ultrantionalist Zionist movement with support of some imperialistic powers has been violates tbrutally cleansing the ethnic of Palestine. This act is, without doubt, illegal because the principles of human rights and international laws.
The miserable conditions of Palestinians under Zionist occupation that has been incessantly destructing their ability to survive as well as denying their basic, right as human beings might resemble the sufferings that have been paid by Indonesian people for more than 350 years during colonial period. Therefore, it is of moral and constitutional responsibility for Indonesia people to ensure that Palestinians will regain their rights and achieve their freedom as soon as possible.
Within the context of the conflict with Zionist regime in Israel, Palestine and Palestinians status under international law and international public opinion is clear. The United Nations Resolution 194 affirmated what have been enshrined in various bodies of international law that Palestinians have the inalienable right of return to their native lands. This is their absolute right and could not be dismissed by any treaty or political agreement.
But, tragically, all of those clarities have been discredited by the arrogance of Zionist regime and its supporters. For 60 years, the inalienable right of return of Palestinians has been denied by Zionist under unrealistic grounds. A proposed state of Palestine, for 40 years, has been hindered by many impractical preconditions.
No peace could be expected without justice. There will be no end to violence as long as we dont end the US sponsored Israeli occupation as soon as possible. |
