Movement to Jerusalem restricted for Muslims on first Friday of Ramadan

Jerusalem – Maan News - Hundreds of citizens crowded at the Rachel’s Tomb (Gilo) checkpoint early Friday morning seeking entry into Jerusalem in order to pray at the Al-Aqsa mosque on the first Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.

The checkpoint, north of Bethlehem, is the official crossing for Palestinians between the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Ahmadinejad says Israel only uses 'language of gun'

 TEHRAN (Press TV) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has said Israel's logic comes out of the mouth of the gun as he condemns Israeli atrocities in occupied lands. 

“The Zionist regime of Israel has always shown that it knows no language but the language of the gun,” Iran's president said in a meeting with Farouq al-Qaddoumi, head of the political department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Tehran on Tuesday.

Free Gaza Boats Arrive in Gaza

ImageGAZA (23 August 2008) - Two small boats, the SS Free Gaza and the SS Liberty, successfully landed in Gaza early this evening, breaking the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The boats were crewed by a determined group of international human rights workers from the Free Gaza Movement. They had spent two years organizing the effort, raising money by giving small presentations at churches, mosques, synagogues, and in the homes of family, friends, and supporters.

Case of shooting nonviolent Palestinian demonstrator at point blank range reopened

 Palestine News Network (PNN)- The Israeli High Court is scrutinizing a ruling in the shooting case of Ashraf Abu Rahma. Israeli forces shot him in western Ramallah’s Nal’in Village, a town active in the nonviolent resistance against the Wall. He was blindfolded and handcuffed when an Israeli soldier shot him at point blank range. Abu Rahma was being held at the time by other soldier.
